Keeping Up With the Joneses

As a Professor of Design, as well as a design professional, it can be a bit of a chore to keep up with current trends in design, especially web and digital design. On top of that add to your knowledge-base three dimensional printing, digital printing and social media trends and so on. I equate this to trying to take a sip from a fire hose with an open nozzle.

As a teacher and designer I strive to focus on the problem and the best solution. Does this project call for print or pixels, a smart phone app or a brochure. Print is not dead. Not yet. The proper tool for the job will certainly always work best.
